KRYSTLE TUGADI

Electrified by the “little things in life”, Krystle Tugadi is a perpetual and enthusiastic explorer of the existential.  Within the last decade, so much of her art and exploration has been centered in excavating the Filipinx-American/Filipinx experience.  Joining forces with her good friend, Dustin Domingo, as a co-producer and host for MeSearch was the perfect intersection of passion and fate.

Aside from podcasting, Krystle Tugadi is an actor, singer, writer, and educator based out of Los Angeles, California.  She received her M.F.A. in Acting at California Institute of the Arts and her B.A. in Theatre at California State University, Dominguez Hills.  Krystle is also a singer-songwriter and has written, composed, and produced her own album entitled, Time, which debuted in 2011.  She has been the opening act for R&B singer-songwriter, Miguel, at the Key Club in Los Angeles, and was the headliner for shows such as the Jazzmopolitan All-Stars at the Ford Ampitheatre and the Festival for Philippine Arts and Culture in Los Angeles.

For over 10 years, her love for sharing theater and performance has also brought her to teaching in K-12 through higher education and the Community at large. Being an AmeriCorps scholar, Krystle instructed junior high and high school LAUSD students as an Acting for Stage Teacher. She has also worked in the non-profit sector as a Program Coordinator and Educator offering free theatre and arts programming to affordable housing communities all over the Los Angeles area with students ranging from 4 to 92 years old. Deeply honoring the diverse voices of each of her students, she has been dedicated to empowering them to celebrate their singular voices and experiences to make art that embodies moments and pieces they would like to see in our world.

Krystle is also a culinary enthusiast. At one point in her life, she took a tour of a culinary institute considering a career in this art form. Choosing the performing arts as her main practice, she still loves to create dishes in her laboratory (the kitchen) and enjoys devouring the stories of food and culture throughout Los Angeles and beyond. Her upcoming project, HUNGRYEYES, is a series of documentary-style videos of how certain dishes were created by resident chefs and how they intersect with the personal stories of their guests. HUNGRYEYES is set to premiere in early 2024.

In her free time, Krystle loves to be a homebody with her cutie husband, her DARLING, Mike Isberto - her favorite writer and singer/songwriter of all time. She is also a big ol’ book worm and has recently found painting as one of her most intimate and authentic forms of expression. Anything in mini-form excites her. She also loves llamas and believes that Grover is her kindred spirit puppet person.
